Through a series of films that show a Chile Mobile Number List different vision of the world, this festival seeks to raise awareness and motivate the viewer to engage positively with their environment.
The chosen films touch on themes aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At Expok we decided to review some of them to share their relevance and how they relate to these goals and your daily life.
Watch Film Fest: “Out of Darkness”
Before starting, we recommend you run for your favorite popcorn, drinks and sweets... do you have everything prepared? Now, press play.
One of the featured films in the Mira Film Fest selection is Out of Darkness . In this film you can learn about the path taken by a Nepalese surgeon, Dr. Sanduk Ruit.
Sanduk, his American colleague, Dr. Geoff Tabin, and their team of local assistants are working hard to reach a hospital where they will help many people regain their sight and hope.
The challenge is not easy. The hospital lies completely behind the farthest mountainous areas of northwestern Nepal. Their lands are poorly accessible and the inhabitants of this area are in a vulnerable situation.
The mission of Dr. Sanduk Ruit and his colleagues is to remove the darkness caused by cataracts. Through this feature film you will be able to appreciate the surgical process with which these professionals help change people's lives and how this influences the economic well-being of families and the community.
We invite you to see the trailer. If you want to know the complete story, you can do so through Cinéplis Click, on this link.
What relationship does the film have with the SDGs?
First, it is important that you know that the Sustainable Development Goals are a universal call for the adoption of measures that help end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
There are 17 Objectives that seek to combat the fight against climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption, peace and justice, among other priorities.
To achieve compliance, the participation of the private, public and society sectors is required. Fundación Cinépolis is one of the brands that decided to get involved with this agenda.
And since it joined this agenda, it has focused its programs on developing some of the Sustainable Development Goals: the 2nd edition of Mira Film Fest is an example of this effort.
